Job description

Recording is an integral and crucial aspect of social care. It is not merely an administrative burden to complete promptly, but it is central to delivering effective and person-centred support. By making meticulous recording a cornerstone of our work, we enhance our practice and the support we provide to individuals.

This role will collaborate with staff across Adult Care & Wellbeing and the broader Portfolio to facilitate the necessary support for practice development in alignment with our vision and strategy.

Specifically, this role will provide support to staff enabling them to utilise the Liquid-Logic Adult System (LAS). This includes developing and delivering regular training programmes to ensure staff proficiency in the system’s usage.

Furthermore, this role will contribute to the development and maintenance of the Adult Social Care practice guidance manual. This entails updating LAS manuals, practice guidance for LAS, and ensuring that relevant guidance is provided in various formats, including written materials and videos, to support staff effectively.

Additionally, this role will support the production of regular and ad hoc internal communications for Adult Social Care staff. These communications serve as a means of keeping staff informed about practice and system changes. This role will also provide support to staff regarding any system or LAS changes through delivering LAS training programs and one-to-one support as necessary.

Furthermore, this role will develop and support quality assurance mechanisms, including audits and surveys, to identify practice quality issues and provide guidance on necessary changes. By analysing information from completed audits, this role will identify relevant actions to support the correct use of the LAS system and dynamically respond to the needs of the services through practice and LAS audits. Support will be provided to staff members both virtually and in person, contingent upon their individual needs and requirements.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact: Ansar Mahmood, Practice Development Officer/Social Worker  Ansar.Mahmood@sheffield.gov.uk

We are investing in our workforce and are promoting opportunities to our under-represented groups.  We value equality, diversity and inclusion and are focused on increasing the diversity of our workforce, particularly the number of Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic, Disabled and LGBTQ+ people, so that our teams reflect the communities in the city we serve. We are also supporting staff with unpaid caring responsibilities to work flexibly.

It is a great time to join us and we welcome your application.

Under the Guaranteed Interview scheme, applicants who are disabled, care leavers, or armed forces veterans will be guaranteed an interview if they meet the essential criteria and indicate their eligibility on the application form.  Sometimes, if lots of people apply, we might not be able to interview everyone who qualifies for the Guarantee. In these cases, we’ll interview the candidates who best meet the essential criteria for the job.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.

Equality of pay is extremely important to us. All roles at Sheffield City Council are going through an evaluation process which may result in changes to some pay arrangements from 2026. Find out more on our Sheff news page.
